This guidance has been developed from information produced by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation

The night shooting of foxes and ground game is necessary to ensure that damage to game, wildlife, livestock and growing crops is kept at acceptable levels.  It is a safe and effective method of control, if carried out properly, and in some circumstances can be more effective than snaring and trapping alone.

The guidance sets out the actions required before night shooting takes place, the type of firearm to use, and the legal position.
